New Year Same Goals

New Year, Same Goals

Well, it's 2025! Can you believe it? It's a bit wild to think we've been living on this earth for 25 years since the whole Y2K panic of 2000. But here we are, moving on to another year, just like any other.

Now, I know what you're thinking: “Hey, when are you gonna drop a New Year's sale for training?” Every year, someone’s asking me about Boxing Day discounts or New Year deals, hoping for that magical "50% off" training package. Spoiler alert: It’s not happening.

I get it. I see you stalking my Instagram and Facebook waiting for that "New Year, New You" promo to drop. And you know what? That’s not how I roll. I’m not in this for the discount-hungry crowd. If you're expecting a big price cut, you might be better off elsewhere.

At this point, you’re probably thinking, “You’re just too busy, and you don’t care about money.” Well, guess what? You're right. I am busy, and I don’t need to cut prices for people who won’t follow through.

With that said, here are a few reasons why I don’t do "discounted training":

1. Mo' Money, Mo' Problems

As the great Notorious B.I.G. said, "Mo' money, mo' problems." And man, is that true.

Here's the deal: I’m a one-man operation. When you pay for training with me, you're paying for my time and expertise. No outsourcing, no middlemen. Just me working my butt off for you. Hiring extra trainers just isn’t on the table yet because I want to maintain the quality of service that you deserve. So, for now, it's just me. You can call me selfish, but my reputation is on the line here — as a trainer, a business owner, and a person. And I'm not about to let anyone shortchange the experience I provide.

2. The Blame Game

Look, Sally, I didn’t tell you to get motivated for 2025. That was all you, probably while sipping on wine and lamenting to Monica about how you’ve “let yourself go.” I get it—we all have those “glory days” when we could eat whatever we wanted and not worry about it. For me, it was when I started to notice a little extra pudge at 16 and found myself out of breath while playing sports.

Some of us realize this stuff earlier than others, but it’s inevitable. The last thing I want is for someone to sign up, work with me for a few weeks, and then point the finger at me when they don’t see immediate results. If you’re not checking in regularly or showing up more than once a month, we’re not going to get anywhere. I’m not here for the blame game.

3. Current Clients > New Clients

I’ve got a roster of clients who’ve been with me for 1-2 years, and they deserve to be treated with respect. They’ve stuck with me through thick and thin, and I value that commitment. I’ll never undercut pricing for new clients just to fill slots. The people who’ve been with me from the start know the value of my services, and I’ll never shortchange them just to chase after quick sign-ups.

If you're not in it for the long haul and ready to put in the work, you’re probably not the right fit for my programs. Because at the end of the day, I want people who are truly committed to making long-term changes. Training is a partnership, and I need people who understand that.

4. Discount Training = Discount Results

Every training package I offer is crafted specifically for you. I take the time to assess your needs, goals, and limitations to create something that’s truly customized. If you’re looking for something generic, you could probably get that from an app like TrainHeroic (shameless plug, I’m on there too). But if you’re coming to me for in-person or online training, you’re getting a level of attention and customization that you won’t get anywhere else.

I’m not just watching you train—I’m assessing every move, modifying on the fly, and, when needed, working with a local team of professionals (like physiotherapists or chiropractors) to ensure you’re on the right path. That kind of service takes time, and it's not something that can be offered at a discount.

5. Time

I’m a self-proclaimed perfectionist, and that means I’m always tweaking, adjusting, and improving my approach. Whether it's testing new theories or refining training methods, there’s never a dull moment. And let's be real—balancing that with family life is no easy task.

As my wife sometimes jokes, "You spend more time perfecting your training programs than you do with our family!" But hey, that’s my passion. Still, I’ve learned that time with my kids is precious, and I want to give them my full attention. So, I’d rather work with people who are serious about their goals than sign up someone who will disappear by January 25th.

Wrapping Up

So there you have it—my reasons for not offering discounts on training. I’m all about quality, dedication, and long-term results, and I’d rather not waste your time or mine. If you’re serious about achieving your fitness goals in 2025, I’m here for you. But if you’re just looking for a quick fix or a sale, we’re probably not the best fit.

Let’s make this year count. Forget the discounts. Let’s focus on consistency, hard work, and results that last. If you’re ready to make a real change, I’ve got your back. If not, that’s okay too. You’ll find what works for you, but just know that I’m not about to cut corners for a quick buck.

Here’s to another year of growth, dedication, and sticking to those goals!
